Jofra Archer has been named in England’s side for the first Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka after completing his recovery from injury.
The fast bowler missed the final two Tests of England’s 4–1 Ashes defeat with a side strain and was initially left out of the squad for the three match Twenty20 series.
Archer had been expected to return during next month’s Twenty20 World Cup but will instead feature in Friday’s opening match in Kandy.
Ben Duckett misses out after suffering a bruised finger, with Jos Buttler set to open the batting on his record equalling 401st appearance for England.
England head into the series on the back of a one day international victory, having beaten Sri Lanka by 53 runs on Tuesday to secure a series win.
