About You
We are looking for an empathetic, professional and highly organised individual with demonstrable experience in welfare, safeguarding or compliance.
An understanding of the role of safeguarding, welfare and well-being in sport along with a proven track record in managing concerns and investigations is vital for this role. You will have knowledge and understanding of the PVG Scheme and associate processes along with experience in handling sensitive and complex matters.
Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to build positive relationships will be essential to success in the role.
With a forward-thinking approach, you will utilise your skills and knowledge to innovate and continuously evolve support, training and processes in this fundamental area.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Welfare and Compliance Manager to lead the delivery of safe, inclusive environments across athletics in Scotland.
Reporting to the Head of Coaching and Welfare, you will act as the organisation’s primary contact for safeguarding, welfare and compliance matters.
Working in close collaboration with partners such as Disclosure Scotland, Children First and UK Athletics you will oversee the ongoing development and implementation of modern and effective safeguarding and welfare practices across the organisation and wider sport.
You will be responsible for the provision of ongoing guidance, support and training for the network of Club Welfare Officers, contributing to the development of policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation and standards.

Place of Work
Hybrid working. The scottishathletics office is based at Laurie Liddell Clubhouse, 42 Peffermill Road, Edinburgh, EH16 5LL. scottishathletics also has an office within the Emirates Arena, 1000 London Road, Glasgow, G40 3HG.
Hours of work
The person appointed will be expected to work for 37 hours per-week. Due to the nature of the post, there may be occasions where there is a requirement to work in the evening and at weekends. The organisation encourages a flexible working approach.
Pension
scottishathletics operates a qualifying group pension scheme for auto-enrolment purposes and will match the successful candidates’ contribution up to a maximum of six percent of salary, including the legal minimum contributions required.
