Jon Jones Convinces Daniel Cormier To Stay After Fighter Nearly Gets Stabbed

After a violent on-set altercation during season 3 of the Russian TUF clone dubbed ALF Reality 3, in which Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are serving as rival coaches, Cormier wanted to leave and fly back home right away.

However, Cormier’s arch-rival Jones played peacemaker and convinced “DC” to stay and finish filming.

Here’s what happened on the show

During the third episode of ALF Reality 3, a brawl broke out between two fighters, and one of them, who was punched in the face, ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife to protect himself.

Jon Jones had to intervene and take the knife back so that no one on the show would get hurt. Other fighters on set also helped to get the situation under control by stepping in and advising those involved in the brawl to calm down.

Check out the altercation below:

After this melee, everybody on set felt unsafe, including Jones and Cormier. When the situation was under control, Cormier informed everyone in the room that he might not continue filming and wanted to fly back home.

“I think we’re gonna go home. I might give them their money back and stay home. I can’t do this sh*t. It’s too much. Somebody’s going to get hurt bad. Like, bad. Somebody’s going to get hurt really bad.”

Jon Jones plays peacemaker on ALF Reality 3, thanks Daniel Cormier for not leaving the show midway

During the filming of the reality series, “Bones” and “DC” showed no interest in mending their strained relationship and continued to trade barbs. However, after a wild brawl, Jon Jones stepped in at the right time, making everyone on the set understand that if Cormier quit, he would consider leaving the show as well.

Jones then urged all the fighters to set their real conflicts aside and not let things spiral out of control, as they are here to make a good TV show, which certainly cannot be done if one of the coaches quits midway.

Jon Jones said:

“Right now, one of our coaches is debating on staying. At the end of the day, Daniel Cormier is a big star in America. He’s a father, he’s a coach. It’s his responsibility to make sure that his team is safe while they’re out here. At the end of the day, this competition, we’re all on the same team.”

He added:

“I know you guys have real conflicts, but ultimately, our goal is to make good TV. If we lose one of our coaches, we can’t make good TV. The fighting, the violence, it’s a lot of fun. But nothing on this show is worth losing your life, whether that’s in the ground or in jail. I understand how Daniel feels, because when I see things like knives, I personally don’t want to be here either. So guys, please don’t make it hard for myself or Daniel by making this show life-threatening.”

After Jones’ message to the team, everyone in the room seemed calm and on the same page, after which “Bones” thanked “DC” for staying back.
