Jordan Clarkson spent a significant portion of the season outside the rotation for the New York Knicks, but he remained patient and continued putting in the work while waiting for another opportunity, according to Steve Popper of Newsday.

Recently, Clarkson has made the most of his increased role. In addition to providing his usual scoring punch off the bench, he has contributed as a playmaker and shown improvement on the defensive end as well.

Reflecting on the adjustment period, Clarkson acknowledged it took time to settle into a new environment with a different system and coaching staff.

“Yeah, for sure,” the player said. “I mean, being able to get comfortable. I know everybody wanted it to click like immediately when I got here.

“But, you know, I’ve got to feel out a new coach, new system and everything, so, I’m getting a chance to watch the D-N-P’s and learn. It was pretty big for me and you know I continue to stay ready and just kept playing and figuring stuff out.”

Clarkson has played 12 seasons for 4 teams, including the Jazz and Lakers. He has averaged 15.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 816 regular-season games.

He has won 1 Sixth Man of the Year award.
