Tyson was a three-star recruit in 2022 who signed with Colorado out of high school. He had 22 catches for 470 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman. Tyson transferred to Arizona State following the 2022 season and didn’t make much of an impact in 2023. In 2024, he caught 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns. His play helped Arizona State make the CFP that season. He battled injuries in 2025, but had 61 catches for 711 yards and eight touchdowns.
Following the season, Tyson declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a first round pick.
Jordyn Tyson Strengths
Tyson is a good route runner who is able to create separation well. He has good releases at the line of scrimmage, which sets him up well for the rest of the play. Tyson is able to get in and out of breaks quickly, which leaves defenders behind. He runs a good number of routes as well, which will prepare him for the NFL.
He is a good athlete for the position as well. Tyson demonstrated solid speed and good acceleration. His agility, which helps him his route-running and his ability to run after the catch, is great. He has shown nice body control, which helps him high-point the football and make acrobatic catches.
His added value is in his versatility. Tyson has experience lining up inside and out at the college level. He can be a mismatch wherever he lines up and be a productive player at any receiver spot. The ability to play inside and out makes him a fit for virtually every NFL team.
Jordyn Tyson Weaknesses
His injury history may concern teams, as there is a decent amount to consider. Tyson has had injuries to his knee, collarbone and hamstring during his time in college. He missed plenty of time in college and that has to be a worry going forward. Team doctors will have to clear him at the combine for some teams to be able to draft him.
He had just one drop in 2025, but has had drop issues in the past. His improvement should be noted in this area, but there are some focus drops, specifically from his earlier years that have to be noted. He has good hands and is capable of making tough catches, but needs to remain focused.
While his speed is solid, it is not going to be elite. He runs well, but won’t always create separation vertically. Tyson mostly creates his separation with his route-running ability. His speed is good enough to be successful, but he won’t be mistaken for a burner at the next level.
