Former South Africa allrounder JP Duminy has been appointed head coach of the Sharjah Warriorz in the International League T20 (ILT20). Duminy, who is also South Africa’s white-ball batting coach, continues to build his coaching career after transitioning from a successful international playing career.
Duminy’s playing career, which spanned from 2004 to 2019, saw him represent South Africa in white-ball formats as well as featuring in top global leagues such as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Indian Premier League (IPL), and Pakistan Super League (PSL). Since retiring, Duminy has been active in coaching, working with South African domestic team Boland Rocks and coaching the Paarl Royals in the inaugural SA20 season.
Expressing his excitement about his new role, Duminy stated, “I am delighted to take up the challenge of being the head coach with the Sharjah Warriorz. This is an excellent set-up, which is vibrant and full of optimism and ideas for the upcoming season. We are looking forward to building a strong squad for this year, and we are excited to see what lies in store for us.”
