Pakistan cricket is all over the news currently for all wrong reasons, their heartbreaking loss against Bangladesh in the first test match of the two match series has drawn serve criticism for the Men in green from the cricketing World. Many Former players have criticised Masood and company for their inability to beat Bangladesh which is a low rank team.
Adding to the list is Former Pakistani player Basit Ali who feels that PCB should take learnings from the Indian cricket board and should host more red ball tournaments for improving their standards in test cricket.
Basit Ali further went on to say that Pakistan has always tried to copy the system from Cricketing nations like England, Australia and New Zealand but now should try to replicate the same as the Indian cricket board.
“It is called Champions Cup One-Day tournament and will occur after this Test series. The systems that Pakistan has mimicked include those of England, Australia and New Zealand. We are neighbours with India, please emulate their system too. There has to be some cleverness in the copying process as well. Just do exactly what is being done by India. The Duleep Trophy is on the verge of beginning. Is it T20 or One-Day tournament? It is a four days’ competition. They have set their priorities right by concentrating on strengthening their base; hence they are achieving great things,” he stated on YouTube.
Abrar Ahmed and kamran Gulham has been recalled for the second test as they were previously left out of the squad . The second test between the two sides is set to start from August 30 to September 3 on the same venue.
From August 20-23, in Islamabad, Pakistan Shaheens played a four-day match against Bangladesh A with both players contributing.
Abrar’s remarkable control and spin on subcontinent pitches single him out as an exceptional leg-spinner who is poised to enhance the spin department of Pakistan. Kamran gives the batting order more depth and stability because he plays in the middle order.
Moreover, Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is Pakistan’s lead fast bowler, has once again returned to the squad after being released at the end of the first Test.
