South African Kagiso Rabada mad his name even bigger in history of cricket as he surpassed the legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis during a match against West Indies in Trinidad.
Rabada delivered a massive performance with the ball, claiming 3 for 56 in 18 overs. Despite the difficult pitch conditions offering little assistance to fast bowlers, Rabada persisted with a well-mad bowling plan. He turned out to be a nail for the West Indies batters as he secured crucial wickets including that of Kavem Hodge, Gudakesh Motie and Kemar Roach.
Rabada’s impressive performance against West Indies took more than just wickets. When he dismissed Gudakesh Motie, he achieved a pretty big milestone in his career. This wicket marked Rabada’s 293rd Test scalp, taking over legendary Jacques Kallis’ total of 292, placing him as South Africa’s sixth highest wicket-taker in Test cricket.
Rabada surprisingly reached this achievement in just his 63rd Test match. As the attacking point of South Africa’s bowlers, Rabada established himself as a prime wicket-taker across all formats.
Jacques Kallis, who is considered one of the greatest all-rounders of all time, had represented South Africa in 166 Tests. With claiming 292 wickets along an average of 32.65, he had made a commanding impression in his career.
