The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly at risk of losing a key member of Andy Reid’s coaching staff this offseason.
Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who has spent seven years with the Chiefs across two spells, is rumored to be interviewing for the vacant head coach’s position with the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans are on the hunt for a new leader after firing Brian Callahan earlier this season after a dismal run of defeats, despite selecting Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick.
And, according to NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, Nagy is expected to meet with Titans executives next week when the interview process gets underway.
Nagy will reportedly face competition from ex-Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy, as well as the likes of Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and former Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
The 47-year-old Nagy has been a long-term assistant to Reid, winning two Super Bowls as the brains behind Patrick Mahomes’ offense.

Andy Reid and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes are facing a summer of change this year
He has had two spells at Kansas City either side of his four seasons in charge of the Chicago Bears.
Nagy led to the Bears to the playoffs twice, in 2018 and 2020, but was fired at the end of the 2021 season.
He returned to the Chiefs as a senior assistant/quarterbacks coach, however he won back the offensive coordinator position when Eric Bieniemy left for the same job in Washington in 2023.
Reid’s defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has also attracted plenty of interest from teams looking for a head coach in recent years and it remains to be seen whether he will entertain any offers for interviews.
As it stands only the Titans and New York Giants have head coach vacancies but more are expected to appear when the regular season concludes this weekend.
Opportunities could also come up with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals.
It promises to be a summer of turnover with the Chiefs after a miserable year that has ended with them missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Patrick Mahomes is currently recovering from an ACL injury while Travis Kelce has been coy over what his future holds.
Travis Kelce has been coy over what his future holds ahead of the final game of the season
The 36-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and the tight end has only said that he plans to consider all options and discuss what comes next with his family and the Chiefs.
Perhaps one indication will come on Sunday, when the Chiefs end their season on the road to Las Vegas Raiders.
His fiancee, Taylor Swift, hasn’t been to a road game since the Chiefs won in the playoffs at Buffalo Bills in January 2024.
If she has made the trip for a dead rubber game in Sin City, it would surely only be because it is the last time Kelce will be on the field.
