The Green Bay Packers orchestrated a blockbuster deal after months of deadlock between Jerry Jones and Micah Parsons. With the regular season fast approaching and no contract extension in sight, tensions flared. Still, few expected the Cowboys to part ways with Parsons just as he entered his prime. Yet fans were left in shock when the team traded the All-Pro pass rusher, Kenny Clark to the Packers.

They weren’t the only ones caught off guard. Kenny Clark, the other player involved in the blockbuster trade, was stunned by the move as well.
Cowboys DT Kenny Clark, who will be facing the Packers Sunday night for the first time since he was traded: “That’s probably the most shocked I’ve ever been in my life. Of course I heard the rumors that the Packers were going to trade for Micah (Parsons) and all that stuff, but I…

“That’s probably the most shocked I’ve ever been in my life. Of course I heard the rumors that the Packers were going to trade for Micah [Parsons] and all that stuff. But I never thought it was gonna be me that was gonna be traded. It is what it is,” Kenny Clark shared his reaction to being traded to Dallas as part of the Parsons deal, according to The Athletic’s Jon Machota.
The Packers sent two first-round draft picks along with Kenny Clark in a trade package to acquire Micah Parsons. They then promptly locked Parsons into a four-year, $188 million contract extension.

So far, the trade has tilted heavily in the Packers’ favor. Green Bay’s Super Bowl odds jumped immediately after landing the star defensive end, and they’ve stormed out to a 2-1 start. Dallas, on the other hand, has struggled mightily. The Cowboys’ defense ranks 30th overall in the NFL. They got dominated 31-14 by the Chicago Bears, and in their only win, the Russell Wilson-led New York Giants shredded them for 37 points and more than 500 yards.
The Cowboys will host the Packers in Week 4 in a prime-time showdown. Parsons will face Dallas in the city where he spent the first four years of his career.
Clark, on the other hand returns to face his old team. The veteran defensive lineman spent nine seasons with the Packers after being drafted in the first round in 2016. On Sunday night, he will focus entirely on driving the Cowboys to a win.

“When it’s game time, I’m in the game. If those guys want to come up, I ain’t seeking it out. It’s all love and they know it’s all love. After the game or before the game, we can do that, but I ain’t seeking out for nothing. I’m trying to win the game. … I’m here to win. I’m gonna play my ass off and do everything I can for us to get a win,” Clark continued.
A three-time Pro Bowler with the Packers, Clark held the distinction of being the team’s longest-tenured player before the trade, building countless connections throughout his tenure. Drafted 27th overall out of UCLA in the 2016 NFL Draft, he contributed at every step for the Packers until a month ago.
