Kenny Omega Wins Shot at AEW World Title & Retains EVP Status

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota featured

Kenny Omega defeating Swerve Strickland to become the new #1 Contender for the AEW World Championship.

This match also featured Omega’s EVP status also being on the line.


Will Ospreay vs. Jon Moxley Announced for AEW Dynasty 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the first of two new matches announced for the card of Dynasty 2026.

This new match was a singles match of Will Ospreay vs. Jon Moxley.

This new match was initially setup during recent weeks shows over Ospreay’s bad blood issues with Moxley and the Death Riders. During tonight’s show, Ospreay was seen backstage and talked about his issues with PAC and challenged him to a match at next week’s show in Winnipeg. Ospreay then turned his attention towards Moxley and talked about how Moxley put him on the shelf for a long while and how he used that time to bond with his son. Ospreay then promised to do the same to Moxley and issued a challenge to him for a match at Dynasty.

In a follow-up segment, Moxley grabbed the microphone after the Death Riders’ victory over SkyFlight in a Mixed Trios match. Moxley responded to Ospreay’s comments about him and accepted his challenge for a grudge match at Dynasty.

It was announced afterwards that the match was made official for Dynasty.


Kenny Omega vs. MJF for AEW World Title Set for AEW Dynasty 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the second of two new matches announced for the card of Dynasty 2026, which takes place on April 12th at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada.

This new match was an AEW World Championship match of Kenny Omega vs. MJF (c).

This new match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Omega’s bad blood issues with MJF and Omega becoming the new #1 contender for MJF’s title. During tonight’s show, MJF came out to the ring and proceeded to mock Hangman Adam Page for losing to him and never being allowed to challenge for the AEW World title ever again. MJF then boasted about himself leading to Omega’s music playing to interrupt.

Omega talked about MJF calling himself the “devil” and revealed that he is back to full power so it might be time for him to call himself a “god” to deal with MJF and win back the AEW World title.

Omega then issued a challenge for their match at Dynasty, which MJF accepted after some words in response but refused to give Omega a handshake that was offered for it.

It was announced afterwards that this match was made official for Dynasty.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured one new match and one new segment announced for the card of next week’s show on April 1st at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured two new matches announced for the card of this week’s show AEW Collision show on March 28th at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
