Kenny Omega may not be stepping into the ring at AEW Revolution — but there’s still a chance fans could see him at the show.
According to Fightful Select on March 15, 2026, Omega informed AEW months ago that he would not be wrestling at the upcoming pay-per-view due to scheduling conflicts. The company was aware of the situation well in advance and adjusted its plans accordingly.
At one point, AEW had internally considered Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland for the Revolution card. However, once it became clear Omega wouldn’t be able to wrestle at the event, the company reportedly pivoted to a different direction. That change ultimately led to Swerve Strickland vs. Brody King being positioned instead.
“Kenny Omega let AEW know months ago that he would not be wrestling at AEW Revolution. At one point, Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland was considered for AEW Revolution, before it was made clear Omega wouldn’t be wrestling. They made the pivot to Swerve and Brody King.”
Even though Omega will not be wrestling at Revolution, the report notes that an appearance at the show is still possible, meaning fans could still see him in some capacity during the event: “There is still a possibility of Omega appearing on the show.”
More importantly, Omega’s in-ring return for AEW television may not be far away. Fightful reported that the former AEW World Champion is already expected to be back in the mix soon and could be wrestling on Dynamite within the next couple of weeks.
“Omega is immediately back in the fold in AEW and could be wrestling on Dynamite within the next couple of weeks.”
That timeline suggests Omega’s brutal Dynamite encounter with Strickland earlier this month may simply be a temporary pause rather than a long-term absence. With Omega potentially returning to the ring on AEW Dynamite in the near future, it’s evident the company is already preparing the next phase of his storyline once Revolution is out of the way.
