Kenya 7s registered a fourth consecutive win after beating Uruguay 17–7 to remain top of the table at the SVNS 2 Nairobi tournament, staying the only unbeaten side at Nyayo Stadium in the men’s category.
Shujaa have now moved to 12 points with one match to play, while Germany sit second on 10 points.
John Okoth, making his first start of the tournament, opened the scoring for Kenya. The forward burst through the defence and raced clear to touch down under the posts at the stroke of half-time for a 7–0 lead.
Straight from the restart in the second half, Shujaa earned a penalty and quickly shifted the ball left to George Ooro, who fended off his marker to stretch the lead to 12–0.
Co-captain Samuel Asati then put the game beyond Uruguay, rising from the back of the scrum, beating his markers and grounding Kenya’s third try to make it 17–0.
Uruguay grabbed a late consolation with a converted try in the final play of the match.
Germany crush USA, Belgium claim first win
USA suffered their first loss of the tournament after going down 28–7 to Germany, who bounced back strongly following their earlier defeat to Kenya.

The Germans raced into a 14–0 halftime lead, with Cedric Eichholz scoring in the first minute and Bennet Veil adding another in the fourth. Felix Hufnagel then crossed for a brace as Germany stretched their advantage to 28–0 before sealing a dominant win.
Belgium finally picked up their maiden victory of the tournament, seeing off Canada in a tight contest. Martin Marenne opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Nico Bulte added another to put the game beyond the Canadians, who have now lost four matches in a row.
Big wins for South Africa
South Africa registered their third win of the tournament in emphatic style, thrashing China 33–5. Maria Tshiremba, Ayanda Malinga, Shannon-Lee Windvogel (two tries) and Patience Mokone were all on the scoresheet, while Nadine Roos added four conversions.
Spain held off a late Brazil fightback to win 29–21 in their fourth match. Carmen Miranda Miralles bagged a brace, with Maria Garcia, Marta Fresno and Alba Capell also crossing for tries.
Kenya Lionesses suffered their third straight defeat, narrowly losing 5–0 to unbeaten Argentina. Marianela Escalante scored in the second minute and Argentina held on for the win.
