Kevin Sinclair Reveals Story Behind His Viral Wicket Celebration

The Test Cricket is back after a long break. England and West Indies are locking horns in a Test series. At the Trent Bridge, they are locking horns in the second match of the series. On the first day of the match, Kevin Sinclair’s celebration after securing Harry Brook’s wicket caught attention. After the day ended, he revealed the reason behind this viral celebration. 

Kevin Wicket and the Trademark Celebration:

After winning the first match, England faced West Indies on the first day of the second Test match at Trent Bridge. At the beginning of the match, England gave a flying start. After Zak Crawly’s dismissal, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope made a crucial partnership. Pope completed his century and played a knock of 121 runs in 167 balls. Duckett scored 71 runs. 

Kevin Sinclair who was added to the playing xi as a replacement for Gudakesh Motie ended up being one of the successful bowlers of the day. But his dismissal of Harry Brook caught the attention.

 In the afternoon session, Kevin returned for a second spell and enticed Brook into an ill-fated paddle sweep. Brook’s toe-ended edge floated to short leg, where a straightforward catch was taken. Sinclair celebrated with his signature somersault, thrilling the Trent Bridge crowd.

The Reason Behind This Celebration: 

After the day ended, the Caribbean bowler revealed the reason behind his trademark celebration. He said, “That’s my trademark celebration, from where I come from. Whenever I get a wicket, I just do it for everyone from there. It all started at the tender age of eight, practising it over and over in the back garden. I know what I’m doing, I’ve perfected it over the years.”

 At the end of the first day, England has gone all out in 416 runs. Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope’s partnership stole the show. Ollie Pope completed his 6th Test hundred and played a knock of 121 runs in 167 balls. Skipper Ben Stokes completed his half-century and played a knock of 69 runs in 104 balls. Before stepping into the second day, West Indies will be aiming for a positive start.
