The teams have decided to hold onto some of the best state cricketers, including Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Vyshak Vijaykumar, in anticipation of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 auction later this month.
This M Chinnaswamy Stadium will host the tournament’s third edition from August 15 to September 1.
The following teams kept four players from their squads from the previous season: the reigning champion Hubli Tigers, runners-up Mysore Warriors, Gulbarga Mystics, Bengaluru Blasters, Mangaluru Dragons, and Shivamogga Lions.
The Hubli team kept wicketkeeper Shrijith KL, teenage all-rounder Manvanth Kumar, excellent medium bowler Vidwath Kaverappa, and captain Manish Pandey.
The runners-up of the previous season, Mysore Warriors, decided to stick with their core group of captain Karun Nair, hard-hitting all-rounder Manoj Bhandage, and CA and SU Karthik.
Despite missing the previous season’s campaign due to an injury, Devdutt Paddikal has been retained by the Mystics.
The Gulbarga team has also decided to hold onto Vyshak Vijaykumar, Smaran Ravi, and Aneesh KV.
Abhinav Manohar, who cost Rs 15 lakh and was the most expensive player in the previous year’s auction, was kept by the Shivamogga Lions.
Also, the Lions have kept Ullal, Shivraj, and pacer Vasuki Koushik.
The Mangaluru Dragons gave Paras Gurbax Arya, Siddharth KV, Rohan Patil, and Nikin Jose retention.
Among the players still with the Bengaluru Blasters are Agarwal, Mohsin Khan, Shubhang Hegde, and Suraj Ahuja.
