There is no love lost between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The pair have been caught in a constant verbal warfare dating back a decade, but their war of words may have now reached boiling point following their recent exchange.
While McGregor is mixed martial arts’ biggest ever global superstar, ‘The Eagle’ arguably finds himself in the runner-up spot. With tens of millions of fans across his social media platforms, the Dagestani’s voice carries much weight, and his influence amongst the Muslim community and many European countries is unmatched.
Amid their ongoing feud, Khabib Nurmagomedov called out Conor McGregor’s alleged drug use. Khabib promised to help the Irishman recover from his addiction by inviting him to one of his rehabilitation centers in Dagestan.
“My count is 56 former drug addicts, at my rehabilitation centers in Dagestan, that I treated,” Khabib wrote on X during an argument with McGregor.
Despite claims of drug abuse during his four-year layoff from competing, ‘The Notorious’ has told fans to expect him back inside the octagon in 2026.
McGregor is seemingly prepared to resume his MMA career, with his sights set on the UFC White House card amid his reported abstinence from abusive substances.
“Come to Dagestan [Conor McGregor],” Khabib continued. “They’ll take care of you here. Mexico didn’t help you, as far as I can see.”
McGregor didn’t sit in silence, instead calling out Khabib Nurmagomedov’s alleged tax dodging in his response.
Khabib found himself in serious trouble with the Russian tax authorities, who seized his bank account amid the UFC Hall of Famer oweing a reported $3 million in unpaid debts.
“And who will I be meeting there because it won’t be you,” McGregor said in response to Khabib. “You can’t scam me with your lies.”
“You tax dodging scammer on the run. Your poor family, I pray. I pray for your constant lies. I pray, I pray, I pray. While you lie.”
“You should just be honest.”

However, while Khabib Nurmagomedov has become an influential figure over the years, fans continue to question whether he has full control over his social media posts.
His manager and friend, Ali Abdelaziz, is known to share controversial posts on each of his clients’ social media pages. If Abdelaziz does play a role in posts on Khabib’s social media accounts, questions must be asked about his true intentions.
After Khabib Nurmagomedov was accused of scamming his loyal fans out of millions of dollars, Conor McGregor hit out at the Russian and demanded answers.
“There is just no way good guy Khabib used his late father’s name, as well as Dagestan’s culture, to scam his fans and fire sell a bunch of digital NFTs online and then delete all of the content after they were sold, leaving his fans robbed of their money?” McGregor said as the news broke.

Khabib’s response to those claims is being questioned by many online.
Instead of completely defending himself, the 37-year-old insinuated that his religion is walking over this world and decided to promote Telegram, a company with which he appears to be in partnership.
“You absolute liar,” Khabib said. “You will always try to darken my name, after you got destroyed that night, but you will never achieve that!”
“Yes, good guys don’t do that. They don’t create exclusive digital gifts with real-time value that you can share with your friends and family.”
“Gifts in the shape of Papakha – a hat that symbolizes the traditions and culture of the Dagestan people. Traditions and culture that [are] slowly walking over this world, whether you like it or not!”
“Gifts that you can find exclusively on Telegram, the greatest messaging platform in the world.”
