Klaasen scripts history, Cummins also retained for massive fee

IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad, who reached the final in the 2024 edition, have splashed the cash on retaining South African batter Heinrich Klaasen for a whopping Rs 23 crore. With this, Klaasen scripted history as he became the player to get paid the highest retention fee in IPL history.

Along with him, Australia’s Pat Cummins and Travis Head have also been retained by the franchise for Rs 18 and 14 crore respectively.

Cummins will once again be seen leading the side just like he did last season while Head will most likely be opening the batting alongside SRH’s next retention, Abhishek Sharma who has also been given Rs 14 crore as retention fee.

As their fourth and final retention, SRH have chosen young Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy for Rs 6 crore. The Hyderabad-based franchise have retained most of their star performers from the last season and look set to dominate in the upcoming season as well.
