Even before the start of the India vs Sri Lanka 3-match ODI series starting from 2nd August in Colombo, the spotlight is already set on Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and star batter Virat Kohli. The presence of this duo has already created enough chatters regarding the series.
After a clean 3-0 victory against Sri Lanka in the T20I format under Suryakumar‘s captaincy, the Indian team is now aiming to copy their success in the ODIs as well. India is having a strong squad for the series, especially since it is led by the 2024 T20 World Cup winning-captain Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli‘s return to ODI cricket aster the 2023 World Cup final also adds another layer of thrill to the series.
The BCCI recently shared a video showing the team’s intense preparations for the ODI series under the watch of head coach Gautam Gambhir.

The video starts with Virat, KL Rahul, and Rohit entering the practice ground. Kohli then quickly steals the light by showcasing a line of powerful shots against bowling of Kuldeep Yadav, which left Gambhir visibly impressed. Apart from Kuldeep, Harshit Rana was also seen bowling to the 3 Indian batters, whereas Gambhir was closely observing the bowler’s performance during the net session.
