Great Britain came from 2-0 down to beat Korea 3-2 after penalty-shots to secure victory on the opening day of the World Championship Division I Group B in Spain.
Forward Margot Sire was awarded her debut cap pre-game as she became the 154th player to ice for GB Women.
Nicole Jackson started between the pipes with Ella Howard as back-up.
Louise Adams and Jodie Alderson-Smith had chances on a first-period powerplay as GB had a short spell of five-on-three.
Aimee Headland was denied by Ahn Sewon on the breakaway before Korea quickly broke down the ice to take the lead as Kim Nayeon set-up Lee Eunji (15:18).
Han Yuan gave Korea a great start to the second period with an unassisted goal (24:29).
Adams closed the gap to one early in the third period (40:47) and Katie Marsden scored on the powerplay to tie the game (48:25).
With no goals in overtime, the game went to a shootout and it was GB who secured the extra point.
Alderson-Smith, Ellin Rees and Marsden all scored for GB with Jackson turning away three of Korea’s five attempts.
GB return to action tomorrow with a match-up against hosts Spain at 20:00 (19:00 BST).
