KSW has proudly announced the promotion’s inaugural Women’s Bantamweight Title bout, marking a historic milestone in the continued growth of women’s mixed martial arts within the organisation.
Taking place as the co-main event of XTB KSW 118 on May 16, Wiktoria Czyżewska (7-1) and Sara Luzar Smajić (6-3) will clash to crown the first-ever KSW Women’s Bantamweight Champion, establishing a new era and further strengthening KSW’s commitment to showcasing elite talent on the global stage.
At just 22 years of age, Poland’s Wiktoria “Chicatoro” Czyżewska has established herself as one of the most promising young talents in MMA. Her 6-1 KSW record features four first round knockout stoppages and a current five-fight win steak, underlined by fiercely effective striking with devastating body-kicks, of which were showcased most recently against UFC veteran Tamires Vidal at XTB KSW 114 in January. In addition, KSW are pleased to announce the agreement of a new multi-fight deal with Czyżewska.
Sara “Guerreira” Luzar Smajić last competed under KSW in 2022, with a 2-1 KSW record including wins over Aitana Álvarez and Natalia Baczyńska-Krawiec. The Croatian standout returns after impressive results in her last two outings, resulting in a historic opportunity to clinch the inaugural title in the biggest fight of her career.
KSW President and Co-Founder, Martin Lewandowski, said: “The introduction of the Women’s Bantamweight Championship represents a natural step forward for KSW to expand opportunities for world-class fighters and deliver high-level competition to fans across Europe and beyond. KSW has always been about building stars and showcasing the highest level of competition in a world class MMA spectacle, and this championship fight is another step in that direction.
“Sara and Wiktoria are both excellent fighters who arrive at this moment from different stages of their careers. Both have earned the opportunity to compete for the KSW title and opportunity to showcase the best of themselves in a historic moment, with the winner set to lead the future of women’s bantamweight.”
