LA Knight has revealed that his appearance on WWE Unreal Season 2 directly changed how he conducts himself backstage following his matches, with the former United States Champion now bypassing the gorilla position entirely after segments.
Speaking on the Bootleg Kev Podcast, Knight addressed the moment from WWE Unreal Season 2 that showed him sitting through a conversation with Triple H after deviating from the original finish of the 2025 Money in the Bank ladder match. WWE producer Chris Park, known to wrestling fans as Abyss, explained the original planned finish to Knight before the conversation with Triple H took place on camera.
Knight said he was holding back significantly more than what viewers saw on screen. “I was majorly holding my tongue in that scenario, if you could tell,” Knight said. “Because I had my own frustrations about that situation, that partially had to do with the finish, but more so it had to do with an overarching theme that I don’t need to get into the weeds about here.”
Knight also revealed that he was unaware he was being recorded during the exchange with Triple H, which prompted the behavioral change going forward. “I had no idea that I was on a microphone at that point in time,” Knight said. “And so with that being the case, I don’t even stop there in Gorilla anymore. When my match is over, my segment is over, I go straight through and I go to the locker room.”
Knight said he remains open to discussing what happened in his matches but on his own terms. “If they want to talk to me about my match or whatever happened out there, sure, let’s talk about it when there’s not a microphone or camera around,” Knight said. “Because that’s how it’s always been. And with that being the case, I’m not going to stop in there and leave myself susceptible to that.”
The gorilla position is the staging area directly behind the entrance curtain where wrestlers wait before heading to the ring and where producers and officials often debrief performers immediately after their segments. It is a standard stop for most WWE talent before heading to the locker room.
WWE Unreal Season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix. A third season has been confirmed for 2026.
