LA Knight’s path to WrestleMania 42 may not be as secure as many fans expected. A new backstage update suggests that he could end up without a match at the biggest show of the year, depending on how one key injury situation unfolds.
WrestleVotes revealed during a March 9, 2026 Q&A session that Knight’s place on the WrestleMania card could depend entirely on whether Bron Breakker is cleared to compete in time for the event. According to the report, WWE is currently waiting on Breakker’s injury status before finalizing several key matches. WrestleVotes explained that the WrestleMania lineup appears to revolve heavily around Seth Rollins and who he will face.
“It really starts with Seth Rollins and who his opponent’s gonna be. WWE’s waiting on Bron Breakker. Then you get Bron and Seth, Brock Lesnar vs. LA Knight, and The Vision against The Usos.”
However, if Breakker isn’t medically cleared in time, the entire card could shift — and that’s where things could get problematic for Knight. According to WrestleVotes, WWE may keep a potential open challenge scenario ready while waiting for final confirmation on Breakker’s health.
“But if Bron Breakker can’t go, now you’re looking at Seth Rollins. Is it Brock Lesnar avenging Paul Heyman’s attack? We’re waiting on Brock Lesnar because of Bron Breakker. This open challenge would be open until they got word on whether Bron is ready or not.”
But if WWE ultimately moves forward with Seth Rollins facing Brock Lesnar and other storylines stay locked in, LA Knight could end up being the odd man out and miss out on WrestleMania 42 entirely.
“They could bring out Seth or LA Knight. But LA Knight might be trouble here creatively if it’s Brock vs. Seth and The Vision vs. The Usos. The odd man out unfortunately will be LA Knight if Bron Breakker can’t go.”
Knight previously admitted he didn’t even know his WrestleMania plans yet — and now it appears the uncertainty may come down to another superstar’s injury status.
WrestleMania plans are still shifting behind the scenes, and LA Knight’s fate may not be decided until WWE gets a final answer on Bron Breakker’s health.
