The news is surprising, considering the Pelicans are 3-22, but this is also a huge blow for the Lakers, who now need to look elsewhere to fix their defensive issues.

The Lakers have given opposing teams way too many wide open looks, and there have been many moments where there are no closeouts on shot attempts.
If the Lakers aren’t going to improve defensively internally, they need to look externally for trade options.
