The largest-ever field at a Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour event gathers this week for the fourth leg at the Poona Club Golf Course from Tuesday.
Despite a couple of late withdrawals, the field will be just one shot of 50 and includes 43 professionals and six amateurs, the WGAI said.
The tournament’s prize purse of Rs. 17 lakh will go some way in determining the early standings of the Hero Order of Merit.
Last week’s winner Tvesa Malik, who edged Anvitha Narender in a play-off, leads the field and other contenders include Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Sneha Singh and Ridhima Dilawari.
The marquee group on the first day will be Tvesa, Ridhima and Vani, promising to set the tenor for the week.
The Poona Club Golf Course has been a regular venue on the Hero WPGT schedule and this is the second week in a row that that is in Pune.
The top three on the Hero Order of Merit after the early wave of events on the Tour are Ridhima Dilawari, Vani Kapoor and Jasmine Shekar.
