The Green Bay Packers have numerous key injuries to monitor as the week progresses ahead of Saturday’s key matchup with the Chicago Bears.
The Packers may have lost last week in Denver, but the injuries sustained in the game were the bigger story.
Green Bay lost multiple key players throughout the game, including star edge rusher Micah Parsons. Parsons will miss the rest of the season, but others have a chance to return this week against the Bears.
What’s the Latest Update on Josh Jacobs, Christian Watson, and Others?
The Packers had a walkthrough at practice on Tuesday, and recorded what players’ participation would have likely looked like in the injury report had they gone with a regular practice.
On Wednesday, Green Bay had its first real practice of the week, and there were some important injury updates in Wednesday’s report.

The Packers have a ton of players on the injury report, but there’s some good news from Wednesday’s practice.
Van Ness, Watson, and Wicks were all reported as DNPs during Tuesday’s practice and were limited on Wednesday.
Watson’s injury looked scary on Sunday, but he flew back home with the team, and there’s no long-term injury from his fall. The fact that he practiced limited on Wednesday is a great sign for his potential availability against the Bears.
With Parsons out for the season, the Packers need a healthy Van Ness. The former first-round pick had missed seven of the last eight games before Denver. He’s one of the main guys Green Bay will look for to step up in Parsons’ absence.
Williams, Whyle, and Tom did not practice on Wednesday for a second straight day. Thursday and Friday will be important days, especially for Williams and Tom, to see if they’d be available for Saturday. Williams said on Wednesday he is “day-to-day.”
Jacobs didn’t practice for a second straight day, but that should cause too much concern. For two straight weeks now, Jacobs has admitted to dealing with pain and still going out and having a great game.
At this point, it may be the smartest option for the Packers to rest Jacobs as much as possible during the week, to give him the best shot at feeling himself on game day.
