LA Lakers miss out
Former NBA Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr had been connected with a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rich Paul suggested that the Lakers trade Austin Reaves to land Jackson Jr. These comments caused controversy as he is the agent of LeBron James, Reaves’ teammate.
Following the trade, Skip Bayless pointed at LeBron James as the loser from this trade, because it showed his decreasing power and sway with the Lakers organization.
Bayless wrote on X: “Well, so much for LeBron getting his wish of trading Austin Reaves for Jaren Jackson Jr.
“The Lakers are done with doing what LeBron wants.”
It remains to be seen if the Lakers will make any moves ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.
The Lakers are 29-19, placed sixth in the West. The two teams involved in the actual trade are outside the playoff spots.
Memphis are in 11th with a 19-29 record, while the Jazz are in 13th at 15-35.
