It proved to be repeat and not revenge at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, as Leigh Wood took a dominant points win in his super featherweight rematch against Josh Warrington.
Wood (29-4, KO17) scored a seventh-round stoppage over Warrington (32-5-1, 8 KOs) when behind on all three cards in 2013.
It was a frantic start, but both struggled to get their timing right in the opener, and Warrington bloodied his rival’s nose with a left hand at the start of the second round.
Wood was warming to his task, landing stiff shots in the third, but ‘The Leeds Warrior’ held firm, a body shot troubling Wood midway through the round.
The 37-year-old connected with a jolting uppercut in the fourth, getting the better of the action, but Warrington was having sporadic success, and there was damage to Wood’s eye as the Leeds man tried to get himself into the contest.
As try as he might, Nottingham favourite was just a step ahead, and was banking round after round, as the fight went over halfway.
By the championship rounds, it was clear Warrington needed a knockout, but Wood was now content to box on the back foot, and the former world champion just couldn’t close the distance.
Time eventually ran out, and the fight went to the scorecards with the result seemingly academic.
Scores of 119-109, 119-110 and 117-111 confirmed victory for Wood.
Fawaz wins British title
On the undercard, Bilal Fawaz took the British and Commonwealth super welterweight titles, as he won a deserved majority decision against outgoing champion Ishmael Davis.
Fawaz (11-1-1, 3 KOs) took over after the halfway mark as Davis (15-4, 6 KOs) began to fade, and was rewarded with scores of 115-113 and 115-114, which overruled a third score of a 114-114 draw.

Ryan becomes world champion again
Sandy Ryan took the vacant WBC super lightweight title and had to work hard to claim a majority decision win against the tough Mexican Karla Zamora (12-11-2, 4 KOs) to become a two-weight world champion.
Ryan (9-3-1, 3 KOs) was pushed hard, but emerged the winner by two scores of 97-93, with the third judge ruling the bout a 95-95 draw.

Allen blows away Berredjem
The ever-popular Dave Allen was in no mood to leave his heavyweight six-rounder to the judges, and he clubbed Karim Berredjem to defeat in less than a minute.
Berredjem (12-11, 3 KOs) was on the deck within the first ten seconds of the fight, and although he survived the count, Allen (25-8-2, 20 KOs) bullied him to the canvas once more, and the Frenchman’s corner threw in the towel.

Remaining Undercard
Leo Atang (5-0, 5 KOs) wasted little time in winning early again, as he needed just over a minute to take out Dan Garber (11-7, 2 KOs).
In the only eight-round contest on the bill, Tiah Mai Ayton (5-0, 4 KOs) went the distance for the first time, winning 77-75 in her bantamweight meeting with Catherine Ramos (9-4-1, 2 KOs).
Molly McCann (3-0, 1 KO) continued her education since moving over from the UFC and took a 60-55 win over six rounds against Beata Dudek (7-9, 4 KOs) at super bantamweight, and in the sole four-rounder, super welterweight hope Joe Howarth (15-2, 4 KOs) won all available rounds against Dan Booth (6-19, 3 KOs).
