‘Like Losing a Family Member’

Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has disclosed that he always felt a close bond with Australian legend Shane Warne, hence his death two years ago was like losing a family member.

While visiting the famous Melbourne Cricket field (MCG), the home field of his “idol,” Kuldeep, who is traveling with his family for a brief visit, posed for a picture outside the stadium with Warne’s monument.

“Shane Warne was my idol, and I had a very strong connection with him. I still get emotional when I think about Warnie — it feels like I’ve lost someone from my family,” Kuldeep said.

He did not, however, go into further detail about his calculation with the great, who passed away in 2022 while vacationing in Thailand due to a heart arrest.

The cricketer who won the T20 World Cup is visiting Australia just a few months before the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which is set to start in Perth on November 22.

“I am looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and we’re anticipating a great cricket contest between Australia and India this year,” he said.

When Kuldeep returned from his knee injury a few years ago, he had a great few years. He also visited the Cricket Australia (CA) headquarters and spoke with CEO Nick Hockley online.

The steadfast support of Indian cricket fans was also thanked by him.

“India cricket fans always support the team around the globe, and I am confident they will come in big numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the Boxing Day Test,” Kuldeep said.

The MCG will host the Boxing Day Test from December 26.
