The match got abandoned as soon as the players entered the field leaving the big crowd highly disappointed. The cause was again the heavy rainfall.

The match was abandoned due to heavy rain and in its place, an ODI was scheduled that took place as planned 3 days later where New Zealand ended up prevailing.
5. West Indies vs England, Guyana, 1990
Another Test match that got abandoned due to heavy rain. In place, an ODI was contested between the 2 sides on the fifth day of the match where West Indies ended up winning.
6. Pakistan vs Zimbabwe, Faisalabad, 1998
The cricket stadium in Faisalabad which is also known as Iqbal Stadium was the venue for the Test match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe that got abandoned. No teams were announced for the match.
7. New Zealand vs India, Dunedin, 1998
Another Test match that got abandoned in Dunedin due to rain. This time it was supposed to be contested between New Zealand and India. On the fourth day, it was decided that an ODI match would be played between the 2 sides.
8. Afghanistan vs New Zealand, Greater Noida, 2024
The one-off Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand became the first Test match in 26 years to get abandoned without a single delivery getting bowled. The reason why it got abandoned was due to rain.
