Premier League champions Liverpool continued their recent run of good form with a 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur in north London on Saturday.
After a goalless first-half, goals from Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike put Arne Slot’s side in to a commanding lead.
Spurs, who had already has Xavi Simons sent off in the first-half, pulled one back through Richarlison but were then reduced to nine men when Cristian Romero was shown a second yellow card.
The hosts were unable to find an equaliser, and Liverpool therefore held on to secure all three points.
That result moved the champions up to fifth in the Premier League table and, while they look unlikely to retain their crown, Slot will be pleased with his side’s recent run.
Off the pitch, however, it appears that Tottenham may have an advantage over Liverpool in the race to sign a highly rated Championship teenager.
As per TEAMtalk, Tottenham are pushing hard to sign Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga, but face fierce competition from several Premier League rivals.

It is claimed that Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Manchester United have all made proposals to the 16-year-old.
Monga is a product of Leicester’s youth system and made his debut for the Foxes last year at the age of 15, in doing so becoming the second youngest player in Premier League history.
The winger – who operates on the left flank – has now played 21 times for Leicester across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
The teenager is set to make a decision on his future early next year, according to the report, with Monga likely to have several option available to him.
Interest in Monga isn’t limited to England, however, with several sides from across Europe said to have keeping tabs on the attacker.
German sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Spanish giants Real Madrid, and French champions Paris Saint-Germain are all said to have been in contact with the player’s representatives, while Italian outfit Juventus are also credited with an interest.
