Liverpool welcome Fulham to Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds were comfortably beaten 2-0 by holders Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in the French capital on Tuesday, following their 4-0 defeat against Manchester City in the FA Cup in their previous outing.

Arne Slot therefore finds himself under intense pressure, with his side having failed miserably in their efforts to defend their Premier League crown.

The Merseyside outfit currently sit fifth in the top flight table, and face a battle to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

In the meantime, it has emerged that one of Liverpool’s most important players of the last decade will leave the club this summer.

The Reds confirmed on Thursday that full-back Andy Robertson will leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

Robertson, 32, joined the Reds from Hull City back in 2017 and enjoyed a reputation for several years as one of the best in Europe in his position.

The Scotland international has made more than 370 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions during his time at the club, but his playing time has decreased over the past couple of seasons.

So far this term the left-back has featured 31 times for Slot’s side, including 19 Premier League games.

The Scot also featured 33 times in the league last season as Slot’s side cruised to the top flight title.

Robertson’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, though, and the reigning Premier League champions have now confirmed that the player will leave the club.

During his time at Anfield, Robertson has won nine trophies including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
