Liverpool will travel to face Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The Reds beat fellow Premier League side Wolves 3-1 on Friday evening to secure their progression from the fifth round, and Arne Slot’s side will face City after the draw was made on Monday.

Arne Slot’s defending Premier League champions have endured a difficult season so far but remain in both the FA Cup and Champions League, where they face Turkish side Galatasaray in the first leg of their last 16 tie on Tuesday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the Merseyside giants are pondering a shock move to sign a former Premier League winger, currently plying his trade in Saudi Arabia.

As per TEAMtalk, Liverpool are considering a surprise move to sign Al-Ittihad star Moussa Diaby as they look to bolster their ranks this summer.

The report claims that the Frenchman is keen to return to Europe after less than two years in the Middle East, and he could be allowed to leave Al-Ittihad this summer.

Diaby, 26, joined the Pro League giants from Aston Villa in 2024 having made more than 50 appearances for the English side across all competitions, registering a combined 21 goals and assists.

Since moving to Al-Ittihad, the France international has scored just eight goals in 61 appearances for the club, although he has provided a staggering 29 assists.

Diaby’s contract with his current side is set to expire in 2029 but the report suggests that he could be allowed to leave the club during this summer’s transfer window.

Al-Ittihad paid more than £50 million to sign the winger back in 2024, but it is suggested that the player himself is keen on the idea of a return to Europe.
