John Cena’s heel turn was set to become one of the most epic storylines, tying the Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era, and hip hop into one duo. As the threesome of John Cena, The Rock, and Travis Scott stood over a fallen Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, the FE!N rapper seemed poised to become a regular on WWE TV. However, as quickly as Kylie Jenner’s baby daddy burst onto the wrestling scene, he was out. With rumors circulating that Travis Scott was to wrestle a match, he was quietly written out of all storylines by the spring. Now, Logan Paul confirms that Travis Scott no-showed a WWE event, leading to the end of their partnership.
Travis Scott No-Shows Raw Leading Up to Money in the Bank
Following Travis Scott’s WWE debut, the rapper was bitten by the wrestling bug. On WWE Unreal, the multi-time BET Awards winner even exclaimed to Triple H that WWE was going to be his new full-time job. Alas, this never came to fruition. Travis Scott’s final WWE appearance took place at WrestleMania 41 Sunday when he helped John Cena beat Cody Rhodes for the WWE Title.
John Cena’s victory was to be a catalyst for a groundbreaking heel faction. However, Travis Scott was never seen again. In the months that followed, Paul Heyman tried to sweep things under the rug, telling Ariel Halwani that “things fell apart.”
Almost a year later, Logan Paul finally spilled the beans about Travis Scott. Travis Scott no-showed Raw on the night the company was set to announce the rapper’s first match.
Travis Scott Was Set to Wrestle At Money in the Bank
Money in the Bank 2025 emanated from Inglewood, California, home of Hollywood and YouTube stars alike. The show revolved around John Cena’s quest to ruin pro wrestling. Therefore, The Never Seen 17 joined forces with YouTuber Logan Paul to clash with former WWE Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.
However, this Tag Team Main Event wasn’t the original game plan for the PLE. Plans were for Logan Paul and Travis Scott to team up in a Six-Man Tag Match.
As Logan Paul revealed on Impaulsive,
“I was very excited, obviously, for him to enter the WWE. And, we were supposed to team up with one other person. It was supposed to be three-on-three, and the day that it was supposed to be announced, he didn’t show up.”
It’s unclear who Logan Paul was referencing in the Six-Man Tag, and whether John Cena was to be the third partner. Some insiders are speculating that it was to be Drew McIntyre.
Was Wrestling Too Hard for Travis Scott?
When Travis Scott attacked Cody Rhodes, the rapper broke the WWE Champion’s eardrum. Many were speculating that Cody Rhodes was waiting for Travis Scott with a receipt.
Nonetheless, Travis Scott made his way to Houston, Texas, to train with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling. However, Travis Scott didn’t quite take to the ring like past celebrities, Bad Bunny and Lawrence Taylor.
Logan Paul speculated,
“My guess is he realized how physically demanding wrestling really is. It’s extremely hard, and it requires a lot of commitment…probably too much for someone who’s a rock star at his level.”
Travis Scott was expected to be a DLC pack for WWE 2K25. However, those plans were dropped. WWE is no longer working with Travis Scott, and it remains to be seen if the two sides will see eye-to-eye again.
John Cena Reacts to Change of Plans
When word got around that Travis Scott no shows WWE, the world started wondering what was supposed to happen. While Logan Paul was willing to give insights, John Cena took the other road.
The retiring WWE legend stated,
“Who cares? It doesn’t matter. We can talk about what could have been until the cows come home. And I think that’s what’s great about the people who are left standing. Certainly, me and Cody.”
We will certainly never get to the conclusion of the John Cena and Travis Scott storyline. John Cena retires tonight.
