The February 17 episode of NXT was quite an interesting show. The brand is always building new stories, and it seems that one may be at a boiling point.
During this week’s NXT, Sol Ruca was looking for Zaria. She found her partner, but their conversation saw the two split up.
Zaria told Sol Ruca that she’s done with her. She’s done with their friendship, and she’s over putting herself behind Ruca. Zaria had a lot to say, and it was a big storyline-changing segment.
“Piss off, seriously, I’m so sick of you. Stealing my championship match last week. You know exactly what I’m talking about or is this thing [while pointing at Sol Ruca’s head] full of sand?! This friendship has been one-sided the entire time. Last week was the final straw. I am done getting used. I am done getting nothing and I am done with this friendship.”
Last week saw Sol Ruca get a #1 contender spot, as she won the match for her team. The stipulation said that whoever got the pinfall would get an NXT Women’s Title match against Jacy Jayne. That contest will go down next week on NXT.
This breakup for ZaRuca didn’t last long at all. In the next segment, Sol Ruca and Jacy Jayne had a back-and-forth promo battle. In the end, Zaria came down and helped Ruca out as she fought off Fatal Influence. Then Zaria and Sol Ruca hugged it out.
This is a breakup that fans saw coming from a long way away. It’s interesting that they didn’t break this pair up with some sort of an attack, as they do with many teams. At this point, we will have to see how they develop the breakup of ZaRuca, but this partnership seems to be over.
