Manchester United travel to the south coast to face Bournemouth in the Premier league on Friday evening.

After a turbulent and disappointing first half of the campaign under Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils have shown huge improvement since Michael Carrick was appointed as caretaker head coach in January.

The ex-England midfielder has overseen seven wins from nine matches, guiding United up to third in the Premier League table as they pursue qualification for next term’s Champions League.

Now, though, it appears that one member of United’s squad is becoming increasingly frustrated and is keen to return to the country where he previously played.

According to CaughtOffside, Man United striker Joshua Zirkzee is keen to leave Old Trafford and return to Serie A.

The Netherlands international joined United from Italian outfit Bologna in 2024, having scored just 14 goals for the club.

Since moving to England his struggles have continued, with the Dutchman having netted just nine times in 69 games for the Red Devils across all competitions.

It is claimed that the player himself is now keen to end his Old Trafford nightmare, with Man United also open to the idea of allowing the Dutch striker to depart.

Italian giants Juventus, AC Milan and Napoli are also said to be interested in the forward, who has netted 13 times in 57 Serie A matches throughout his career to date.

Despite significant interest in the player, the report suggests that potential suitors are only interested in signing the player on loan, with United asking price of around £30 million deemed too high.

Zirkzee’s contract with United is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 season, but the report suggests that he could leave Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens this summer.
