Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will hope to see his side continue their recent run of good form when they visit Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have won five and drawn four of their last ten Premier League matches and now sit sixth in the top flight table, despite a disastrous start to the season.

Amorim appears to have eased the pressure that had mounted on him following a dismal first year in charge, and the Portuguese will want to see his side continue to improve going into 2026.

Now, with the January transfer window fast approaching, it appears that United are contemplating offloading one of their defenders.

As per CaughtOffside, Man United are considering allowing Patrick Dorgu to depart in January and signing a replacement for the Dane.

Dorgu, 21, joined the Red Devils from Italian side Lecce during the last January transfer window, but has since struggled to recreate his best form in England.

In total he has made 36 appearances across all competitions, but the left-back has started just seven of United’s 16 Premier League games so far this term.

It is claimed that United could therefore look to upgrade the Denmark international, although it is unclear who would be top of their list of targets.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown and Newcastle United star Tino Livramento are touted as possible targets for the Red Devils.

They will likely face competition from Arsenal for Brown, though, with the Gunners said to have serious interest in the full-back.

At present, Dorgu is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of the 2029/30 season.
