Manchester United host Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils will once again be lead by Darren Fletcher, who is interim charge of the club following the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim earlier this month.

Fletcher oversaw a 2-2 draw against struggling Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday night, and the ex-Scotland international will be keen to get his first victory when they host the Seagulls on Saturday.

In the meantime, it is being reported that United have lodged a sizeable offer for a Bundesliga sensation.

According to CaughtOffside, the Red Devils have made an offer to sign RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande, who has attracted significant interest from a number of clubs.

The report suggests that the Manchester outfit’s offer fell far short of Leipzig’s valuation of around £86 million for the player.

Diomande, 19, joined Leipzig from Spanish outfit Leganes over the summer and has since made 16 appearances for the German side across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all also said to have shown interest in the Ivorian, who is currently representing his country at the African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Leipzig are said to have made it clear that offers in the region of £50-60 million will not be accepted, as they have no intention of selling Diomande any time soon and are instead holding out for offers that meet their valuation of the player.

German champions Bayern Munich, French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and Spanish side Barcelona are all also said to be monitoring the attacker’s situation.

Diomande primarily operates on the right flank but is also capable of playing on the left.
