Manchester United welcome Premier League rivals Manchester United to Old Trafford in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils will once again have ex-midfielder Darren Fletcher in the dugout against the Seagulls, with the Scot in temporary charge following the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim earlier this month.

United are on the hunt for a successor to Amorim, but in the meantime it has emerged that one member of United’s playing squad has received an offer from elsewhere.

As per Fichajes, via GiveMeSport, veteran midfielder Casemiro has received an offer to return to his homeland and join Brazilian side Palmeiras.

Casemiro, 33, joined Man United from Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2022, having enjoyed a hugely successful spell in the Spanish capital where he won 18 trophies including five Champions Leagues.

Since moving to England, the Brazil international has made more than 140 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, and won both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

So far this season the Brazilian midfielder has made 19 appearances in the Premier League, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Despite his continued importance to United, Casemiro has regularly been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

His contract with the Red Devils is set to run until the end of the current campaign, and it is currently unclear whether or not he will depart Old Trafford this summer.

Brazilian giants Palmeiras are said to have offered the central midfielder a two-year contract, hoping that offering a 24-month deal – as opposed to one year – may persuade the player to return to his homeland.
