With the end of the Premier League season now in sight, it still remains to be seen who will be in charge of Manchester United next season.

The Red Devils currently sit third and are in pole position to finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League, largely due to their impressive form since Michael Carrick took charge in January.

Carrick has won seven of his ten games in charge at Old Trafford, having succeeded Ruben Amorim after a disastrous first half of the campaign under the Portuguese.

Looking ahead to this summer’s transfer window, it appears that Man United are now eyeing a move to sign a La Liga full-back.

According to Mundo Deportivo, via GiveMeSport, those in charge of United’s transfer dealings have identified Barcelona star Alejandro Balde as a possible target ahead of this summer’s window.

It is claimed that Balde, 22, has attracted interest from several Premier League sides including Man United, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Balde joined Barcelona’s La Masia academy as a youngster and has since progressed into the first team.

He has now featured 160 times for the Catalan club across all competitions at senior level, earning a reputation as one of the best left-backs in the Spanish top flight.

The report suggests that Man United have made enquiries about the Spain international, who has several impressive attributes including explosiveness and power.

Despite this, no formal clubs have yet been made for the Spaniard, who is under contract at his current club until the end of the 2027/28 campaign.

Balde himself is also said to be fully committed to his current club and isn’t considering a move away from the Nou Camp at present, which could hinder United’s chances of signing the player.
