After bagging the first Test match of the two-match Test series, Team India is eyeing the second Test match of the series. With an exceptional performance, Team India defeated Bangladesh by a 280-margin. As the second Test match is coming close, the excitement is rising high over India’s playing xi. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar expressed his desire to see Kuldeep Yadav back in India’s playing XI. He believes Kuldeep’s return would strengthen the team.
Manjrekar on Kuldeep’s Place in Second Test:
After a long break, Team India returned to the Test format a few days back. They are facing Bangladesh in a two-match Test series. As the first Test match of the series took place in Chennai, India registered a massive victory of 280 runs. In the match, the Indian side showcased domination in both batting and bowling units.
But despite being in Team India’s squad, Kuldeep Yadav missed out on being on the playing xi of the first Test. The talented spinner performed exceptionally well in the last home Test series against England. Sanjay Manjrekar called on the Indian team management to include Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI for the second Test, emphasizing the importance of his presence in the squad.
Manjrekar said, “I feel Kuldeep Yadav should not be dropped so easily. I believe that even if it was not a turner, India would have benefited from playing Kuldeep Yadav in Chennai because the seamers will get help for just one or one-and-a-half days on an Indian pitch.”

Kuldeep on Bumrah’s Place?
Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar voiced strong support for Kuldeep Yadav. He proposed resting Jasprit Bumrah, if necessary, and bringing Kuldeep into the team. Manjrekar emphasized that Kuldeep’s inclusion could benefit the squad, especially if Bumrah needs a break.
Manjrekar said, “If Bumrah wants a rest, give him. Try and get Kuldeep Yadav back. Even if it’s a green top and the sun is out, they should keep in mind that the green top will be just for the first few hours, and Siraj and Bumrah are enough for that. When you have three proven spinners, you should play all of them.”
Team India’s final run for the WTC race has begun. They defeated Bangladesh by a huge margin in the first Test. The second Test is set to take place in Kanpur on 27 September. After completing the series, Team India will face New Zealand in a three-match Test series. After that, the classic Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been lined up.
