Maple Leafs’ Morgan Rielly day-to-day with lower-body injury, ruled out vs. Senators, Philippe Myers re-enters lineup

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly will not play in Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators, due to a lower-body injury, and is listed as day-to-day. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube confirmed Rielly aggravated an injury during Friday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Rielly previously missed Thursday’s Fan Day festivities due to the flu.

D Morgan Rielly (lower body) will be unavailable for tonight’s game and is listed as day-to-day.

Philippe Myers will re-enter the lineup in Rielly’s place. Myers has recorded two assists in 34 games this season, last playing against the New York Islanders on March 17.

Michael Pezzetta will be a game-time decision. Pezzetta was called up from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies on Friday, but did not play against the Hurricanes. The 28-year-old was called up earlier in March, making his Maple Leafs’ debut against the Anaheim Ducks on March 12, where he entered a fight one second into the contest against Jeffrey Viel.
Rielly has recorded nine goals and 33 points in 67 games for the Maple Leafs. It’s been a difficult season for the Maple Leafs’ longest-tenured player, as he’s been on the ice for a league-worst 69 goals at 5-on-5, with a -10 goal differential. Rielly has been a consummate pro throughout his tenure with the organization, but as the Maple Leafs consider all options while in a state of transition, he has often worn the brunt of the responsibility for a lost season.
Toronto will almost certainly miss the playoffs for the first time in a decade, and it’s in the team’s best interest to start resting veterans wherever applicable. With 12 games remaining, Maple Leafs fans are hoping the team can recoup its 2026 first-round pick from the Boston Bruins, which is top-five protected.
