This weekend, PatsPropaganda is doing something special. All proceeds from every 28‑3 tee sold on 3/28 and 3/29 will be donated to Blood Cancer United in memory of Boston Herald writer Doug Kyed’s daughter Hallie, who tragically passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2024. Doug has long been one of the most well-liked and respected Patriots beat writers in our community and this effort is a small way for all of us to show our support for him and his family. Kraft Sports will match up to $1,000 in donations.
The donation will be submitted through another Patriots connection. Ben Lepper, a leukemia survivor and Make-A-Wish alumnus who announced the Patriots selection of Tyquan Thornton during the 2022 NFL Draft, is participating in Blood Cancer United’s Visionaries of the Year campaign this spring, where all proceeds will be donated. Read more about Ben’s journey here, where you can also donate directly.
The 28‑3 tee has become an iconic Patriots meme and this is where it all started! Its meaning is rooted in resilience, belief and refusing to quit no matter how tough things get. On March 28, also Hallie’s birthday, that message becomes even more powerful. It becomes a symbol of support for both a person and a family that have endured what no one should have to face, and a way to help others who are battling the same devastating disease.
If you have been thinking about grabbing one of the shirts, March 28 or 29 are the days to do it. Whether you are a longtime reader, a dedicated Patriots fan or simply someone who wants to contribute to a meaningful cause, your purchase will go directly toward helping families fighting leukemia and honoring a young life gone far too soon.
