McLaren Launches High-Performance Equipment Venture: McLaren Golf

McLaren is expanding its high-performance philosophy beyond the racetrack and the road with the launch of McLaren Golf, a pioneering new venture that brings the brand’s engineering expertise into the world of premium golf equipment.

Announced today, the initiative unites the technological DNA of McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive, translating decades of motorsport innovation and supercar engineering into a new category. The result aims to set a new benchmark for golf equipment designed with the same precision, performance mindset, and obsessive attention to detail that define the McLaren name.

The project will be led by a dedicated team combining experienced golf-industry professionals with world-class engineers drawn from McLaren’s broader technology ecosystem. Together, they aim to redefine the expectations of modern golf equipment through advanced design, materials, and manufacturing processes.

At its core, McLaren Golf reflects the brand’s longstanding commitment to performance engineering. From Formula 1 circuits to the world’s most exclusive fairways, the objective remains the same: unlocking new levels of precision, control, and performance.

Neil Howie, CEO of McLaren Golf, said the venture represents more than simply launching new sporting equipment.

“McLaren Golf is a high-end, engineering-led venture. It goes beyond the equipment. We’re building a brand grounded in McLaren’s high-performance DNA and embedding it in a new sporting arena. We’ve hired some of the best minds in engineering and combined them with leading figures from the golf world. Together, we have created an innovation-led company that pushes the limits of what golfers can expect from their equipment. We can’t wait to see our ambition come to life on the course this year.”

Nick Collins, CEO of McLaren Automotive, highlighted how the brand’s engineering philosophy naturally translates into new performance categories.

“McLaren has always turned technical excellence into extraordinary experiences. We’re bringing that same philosophy to our new venture, McLaren Golf. We’re creating equipment that is beautifully engineered, meticulously refined and unmistakably McLaren.”

For McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, the move represents a natural extension of the company’s performance-driven culture.

“At McLaren Racing, we’re driven by performance and the pursuit of excellence in everything we do. Taking our benchmark-setting engineering standards from the grid to the golf course feels like a natural step. This move opens the McLaren brand to a new audience.”

The first McLaren Golf products will be officially unveiled on 29 April, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the British performance brand as it extends its engineering expertise into yet another precision-focused sport.
