Medeama SC advance to Semi-Finals after dominant extra-time win • Sahara Football

Medeama SC booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup after a dominant 3-0 victory over Attram De Visser at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

The quarter-final encounter remained tightly contested throughout regulation time, with both sides unable to break the deadlock after 90 minutes. However, the Mauve and Yellows took full control in extra time, producing a late surge that sealed a convincing victory.

Forward Kelvin Nkrumah emerged as the hero of the night, netting a remarkable hat-trick in extra time. He opened the scoring in the 109th minute before doubling Medeama’s advantage in the 114th minute. Nkrumah completed his impressive treble in the 118th minute, putting the result beyond doubt and sending the Tarkwa-based side into the last four.

The victory means Medeama SC will now face Dreams FC in the semi-finals as they continue their quest for another FA Cup triumph.

Medeama’s journey in this year’s competition has been impressive. They began their campaign with a commanding 4-1 win over Rospak FC in the Round of 64 before defeating fellow Premier League side Bibiani GoldStars 3-1 in the Round of 32. In the Round of 16, they overcame FC Samartex 1996 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw to progress to the quarter-finals.

Known as the Mauve and Yellows, Medeama SC are among the most successful clubs in the competition’s recent history. The Tarkwa-based side lifted the FA Cup in 2013 and again in 2015, defeating Asante Kotoko in both finals.

Currently leading the Ghana Premier League table, Medeama SC are enjoying a strong season and will be eager to add another FA Cup trophy to their cabinet as they prepare for a crucial semi-final showdown against Dreams FC.
