Mehidy Hasan Miraz Donated Prize Money from Pakistan series to Rickshaw Puller’s Family

Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz went on to fulfil his promise and handed his prize money from the Pakistan series to the family of a rickshaw puller back home, who was killed in the recent protest regarding job quotas.

Miraz dropped a note on his Facebook page with a picture of the family of the rickshaw puller. The picture showed the cricketer with his parents, along with the wife and children of the deceased individual.

Miraz said that he saw a viral video during the protests in which the son of the rickshaw puller was crying after he lost his father. He then pledged to support the family which was in need after losing their only financial support.

“A video that went online recently caught my eye. The crying voice of a rickshaw driver brother’s child killed in anti-discriminatory student movement has made me think again and again. I vowed to stand by my brother’s family,” Miraz wrote in a Facebook post.

“I promised that I would hand over the money for the ‘Man of the Series’ award in Pakistan. Finally, that goal is fulfilled. Yesterday I was able to hand over this money with my father and mother to the mother of Aryan, Arman and Amena,” Miraz said.
