Veteran pro wrestler Mercedes Martinez is stepping into 2026 with clarity—and closure.
The former ROH Women’s World Champion took to social media to announce that 2026 will mark her final year as a full-time active competitor. After 25 years of grinding through the independent scene, major promotions, and everywhere in between, Martinez is preparing for her final chapter inside the ring.
In a personal post, Martinez made it clear that this farewell tour won’t be scripted or managed. It’s going to be on her own terms.
“No contracts. No agents. No creative. Just me – and everything I’ve earned over 25 damn years in this business.”
Martinez reflected on her 2025 campaign, explaining that it wasn’t about spotlight—it was about purpose. She returned to her indie roots to reconnect with the raw side of the business that shaped her.
“2025 wasn’t about being showcased. It was about going back to the indies, back to the grind, back to the reason I started — and remembering exactly who the hell I am.”
More than just competing, Martinez emphasized her commitment to giving back. Her focus in 2026 will also be on mentoring and helping the next generation of wrestlers by passing down lessons she had to learn the hard way.
“Giving back. Teaching. Helping the next generation. Passing on what was given to me the hard way. That part means everything.”
And while she isn’t closing the door on wrestling entirely, the message was crystal clear: this is her final year as a full-time performer.
“One more year of showing up and giving everything I’ve got because that’s the only way I’ve ever done this… One last run.”
With a legacy defined by toughness, resilience, and passion, Martinez enters 2026 on her terms—just as she’s lived every moment of her career.
