Mercedes Moné is taking a break from the world of All Elite Wrestling, but already has her return planned.
During Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, a vignette played where Moné was lamenting her TBS Championship loss to Willow Nightingale. In a video that saw Moné in a disheveled state and talking to her reflection in a mirror, she was mad. She said she spent more than 500 days as champion, and was ranked the #1 wrestler in plenty of places.
Now that she’s lost, though, she said, she’s going to send a message. As a result, Moné will be taking a break from All Elite Wrestling. The reason, she said, is that she’s tired of the disrespect she’s gotten from the company. She’s going to leave to show “why and how” she elevates.
When she returns, though, Moné said she’ll be collecting “more than just titles,” and will likely be going after a number of stars, including Willow Nightingale.
