Mercedes Mone hasn’t competed in a WWE Royal Rumble match in over four years, and that isn’t likely going to change anytime soon for AEW’s ‘CEO.’
The 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match came and went without Mone, and on Instagram, one fan made it clear that they wanted Mercedes to return. The fan wrote,
“i was waiting for you in this royal rumble… and instead, nothing. seeing other spots wasted while you weren’t there hurts, it makes me angry, it’s just awful. we expected to get hyped, to witness incredible moments, and instead it was all empty without you. the fans want you, i want to see you come back. this isn’t just nostalgia, it’s all the love and passion you’ve always inspired. stop staying in the shadows, stop these unfair absences… come back, do it for us, do it for everyone who has believed in you for years. we miss you too much, and every royal rumble without you proves it.💔”
While the fan made a dramatic request for Mone to return, Mercedes responded by pointing out that if the fan wants to watch her, there’s already an option. She wrote,
“@wtfnikolas you can watch me on AEW 🤑🥰”
Mone walked out of WWE in May 2022 as she and Naomi had grown frustrated with the promotion’s creative booking and saw no other alternative.
After a stint in NJPW, Mone joined AEW in 2024 and became the first person to win a title, the TBS Championship, in their debut match.
In January 2026, it was reported that Mone is very happy as part of AEW, and she has shown no signs of wanting to return to WWE.
