Mercedes Mone Vacates APAC Women’s Championship, Now Holds Zero Active Titles

Mercedes Mone has vacated the APAC Women’s Championship, her last remaining title, after the Malaysia-based promotion was unable to fly her out to defend it and was not willing to work with other promotions to find a solution.

Mone announced the decision in her Mone Mag newsletter. “While I was in London, I had to make a tough call. I sent the Malaysia Championship back,” Mone wrote. “My team and I really tried to make things work. We put in the effort, had the conversations, and explored every option. But at the end of the day, they told us they didn’t have the budget to fly me out and weren’t open to working with other promotions. That just didn’t align with the vision. So I made the decision to vacate the title.”

The vacancy means Mone now holds zero active championships. The only remaining belt in her possession is the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation tournament title, which is only defended annually.

The fall from her peak has been dramatic. At her highest point in late 2025, Mone held thirteen titles simultaneously across AEW, ROH, CMLL, RevPro, NJPW Strong, and multiple promotions in Europe and Canada, breaking the nearly 30-year record previously held by Ultimo Dragon for the most titles held at the same time. She dubbed herself “Ultimo Mone” in reference to the record.

The slide began at the end of 2025 when Mone lost three championships in rapid succession: the ROH Women’s World Television Championship to Red Velvet at Final Battle, the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship to Alex Windsor at the Collision: Holiday Bash taping in Manchester, and the AEW TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale at Dynamite: New Year’s Smash on December 31, ending a 584-day TBS title reign.

She dropped the CMLL World Women’s Championship to Persephone at Arena Mexico on March 6. She lost the BestYa Women’s Championship to Swan in Italy on March 8. She dropped the EWA Women’s Championship to Mila Smidt in France on March 14. She lost the Bodyslam Scandinavian Women’s Championship and the Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Championship to Alexxis Falcon at RevPro High Stakes on March 21 in a single match. She lost the PTW Women’s Championship in Poland shortly after. She then lost the WPW Women’s Championship to Jody Threat in Winnipeg on March 31, leaving only the APAC title, which she has now vacated.

In total, Mone has dropped thirteen championships since the end of 2025. She has been off AEW television since appearing in a vignette on the January 10 episode of Collision. Multiple reports have indicated she is expected to return to AEW programming soon.
