History was made on Friday as international competition between Croatia and Mexico began. Known as Las Serpientes, the North Americans confirmed their superior world ranking as they overcame Croatia at Stadion Park Mladeži in Split, Croatia.
Mexico defeated Croatia 33-17 in Friday’s test match on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea. It was the world’s 38th ranked team beating the 51st ranked side in an away international.
The match was game two of a two-match-tour for Mexico. It was also the first-ever tour of Las Serpientes in Europe. Game one was in Prague, Czechia with Czechia completing a 54-27 victory.
